David Hurdle

David has been involved in shallow water wave modelling, hydraulic engineering and statistical analysis for more than 30 years. He has extensive experience of studies into wave propagation, wave penetration, the interaction between waves and ships and obtaining design data from model results and measurements.

Among his many advisory projects were wave studies for the flood defences along the Dutch coast. He has led project teams designing scour protection systems for gravity-based structures in Sakhalin, Japan and Scarborough, Australia. David  has also supervised  wave climate studies and the statistical analysis of normal and extreme wave conditions for harbour design and morphology projects worldwide 

He headed the wave, ship hydrodynamics and offshore group at Alkyon and was manager of the Marine Infrastructure group in the Arcadis Water Division before joining BMT in 2011.
